Evaluation Question 7

Evaluation question 7

Looking back at your premlimary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from it to the product ?

Prelimary task exercise

Firstly I will talk about my preliminary task exercise. when filming the preliminary task  it was all filmed inside which then gave us the advantage of not having to deal with horrid weather conditions which could change the outcome of the task dramatically.

Also all the sound in our preliminary task is all diegetic. Although the sound is basic, it was quite clear mainly being the reason was that we was inside which didn't allow any wind or other sound such as cars or other random people.

Next Props were specified in our preliminary task because me and my group did not think they were very necessary and important to the task, however we did use one prop which was the phone when it rings and then he answers it and has a conversation and that is just a sign where the audience gets the idea that the task is about finish.

While editing the task we had learned and performed many techniques that we used within our task such as the following:
Match on action, where you see tommy open the door on one side and then on the inside of the room you see him enter the room and close the door.
Panning shot and eye-line match, Although we did make a mistake on this technique where we didn't get a eye-line match on Connors face but we placed the camera where Connors eyes would be and then we starting panning the camera following tommy when he sits down.

Final product
In our final project we did many similar techniques to the preliminary tasks such as the panning, eye line match and more but when we was panning for our final project it was a little shaky and we thought about re filming it but we decided to keep it because it suited our particular film and and settled the mood.

While filming a final project we noticed a dramatic change with the sound mainly due to the fact we varied filming outside and inside. Next the sound within both of our project we didn't really used the microphone apart from in our final project when we recorded sound for the scene when Connor is taking deep breathes while aiming down the scope out of the window.

Unlike the preliminary task props were a vital key for our final product without our props the film would never of been as exciting and thrilling. The props that were used in our final product were the following:
Sniper rifle (air rifle)
Car
a piece of string to strangle (shoe lace)
Gloves
The chip (Macguffin)

finally in our final product we used many more editing techniques than we did in our preliminary task, the techniques consisted of numerous Match on actions where i jump over a gate from one side and then you see me land on the other side, also we had the eye-line match were Connor was aiming the scope out of the window looking out of the window, and one more that we did was over the shoulder when Connor was in the car.
