rough cut of film

Rough Cut

This is our rough cut of of the film so far, this will give our audience a rough idea of what to come in the future when the film is finished although its not up to the best quality its something we can build on.

The following below is a list of things that we can improve on:

  • More variety of camera shots,
  • Try to perfect the acting e.g. When I am in the car I smile,
  • Maybe some verbal communication involved within the film,
  • Could add some music,
  • Make sure we do not break the 180 degree rule at the end when connors walking away.

I believe once we have done all of these improvements to the film we will get the marks we deserve

Each shot involved the camera and tripod, we used this so we could get a steady straight shot every time.
The only exception to the tripod was shot 6 and we also had a tape in the camera at each shot to record it all.

The assassin was wearing a black suit,
The man being chased was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a darker grey jacket and a hat.
The man who gets killed is wearing jeans and a black jacket.
The dead man in the car is wearing a puffy navy blue jacket.

4 different idents

Four Idents

its important that the ident reflects something about the studio and when making a film you could say the film could also reflect on the type of film which is following.

For example Pixar studios is based in animation which is also involved with walt disney because they have been involved in any walt disney animation films such as Toys story, and because animation is based around the age groups of small kids the impression of this intro is very simple, however it is very childish but even so adults find it amusing too.

Warner Bros. Pictures

Warner Bros is one of the biggest idents ever made and you could say that this intro backs up that fact because the logo is in the sky, which then you could say it looks down on all the others the more superior to many. also i think the intro although very clever its also very simple in a way because its just there logo in the clouds.

Risk Assessment

Risk Assessment Sheet

Title: The Catalyst
Writer: Joe, Connor and Michael
Producer: Connor Heather
Director: Michael
Date: Thur 6 Dec 2012
Major Issues:

Filming at: Dagenham chase
-          Public area, may be other people that we don’t want in the shot.
-          Mustn’t do anything that will get us in trouble, for example if were using a gun, we need to make sure that no member of the public feels threatened. Or they must know that what we are doing is fiction and made up.
-          We are going to check the area for any trip hazards, so when we film the chase scenes nobody is going to fall over and injure themselves.
-          Furthermore, we have someone in our crew  who is in charge of safety. For example, looking out for weather, traffic etc etc.
-          We will all have full charged mobile phones incase of emergency.
-          We will make sure a parent or guardian knows exactly where we are going.

Solutions:
-          We will tell people that we are filming and tell them not to ruin the shot. The space we are filming is confined anyway.
-          We will tell all members of the pubic that what we are doing is fiction, it is made up and that we are filming and acting as part of our studies at Robert Clack sixth form.
-          One person who isn’t acting will always be on the lookout for traffic, bad weather and any other obstacles that will get in our way.

Location Plan

Production Schedule
Location Visit Sheet

Programme Title: The Catalyst
Writer: Connor and Michael
Producer: Connor Heather
Director: Michael
Date:

We are filming our thriller over the chase in rush green/ Dagenham east. The chase is a public walk way that has various bushy areas and also hills. We will be walking to the chase from Robert clack school. This will take about 20 minutes to get there, however you can get a bus from the Robert clack to Dagenham east station and walk from there which will also take about 20 minutes.  You can walk through central park to get to the chase but there are two parts to the chase and the part we are filming our thriller in is the second part to the chase at east brook end.
This location is easy to access because it is a public park and all you have to do is walk through the gate to get to the chase.
There is a simple bus route that you can take to get to the chase which I will show you down below where I will screen shot it. I will also screen shot the route that you have to take to get to east brook end/ chase if you are walking.
On your way to the chase you might encounter traffic and maybe bus driver change over’s if you are taking the bus route.
This is the directions of the route you have to take if you are taking a bus.

Health and Safety Issues to note:

We could fall over whilst filming and injure ourselves badly
We could get attacked by the wild (low risk)
Weather conditions maybe to rainy to film as it may affect the camera
Big branches could trip over, and we will path where the actors path that they will be running through.
Lighting of the day where shooting get to dark and we could lose equipment that we have been giving by the school
Potential Filming Problems :

      Weather
      Conditions
      Light
      Hazards

Additional Notes:  (map of area/weather forecast etc)

This is a picture of the gate you will have to walk through to get into the chase. As you can see it’s easy to access because all you have to do is step over the gate.

This is a picture of the map where the chase is, it shows you the roads you have to take to get there.

This is a picture of the route that you have to walk if you choose to walk.

This is a picture of the bus route that you will have to take if you do choose a bus route, it also shows the busses you have to take and which bus tops to get off at.

Bond, James Bond

James Bond

The James Bond film series is a British series of spy films based on the fictional character of MI6 agent James Bond aka 077, who originally appeared in all of books made by Ian Fleming. Earlier films were based on Fleming's novels, followed later by films with original story lines. It is one of the longest running film series in history, having been in ongoing production from 1962 to u until now. In that time Eon Productions has produced 23 films, at an average of about one every two years, usually produced at Pinewood Studios.

All the the bond films all have and always will have similarities and the same characters such as villains, sexy girls and of cause James Bond and he's slick attitude. The bond films also most of the time have a beautiful exotic location, however in the latest bond sky fall the film is based in London which might not be a exotic location but certainly is a well known city that a lot of people are familiar with. Next I couldn't help noticed that in nearly all the James bond films start with an action packed exhilarating opening scene making everyone want to stay in their seats and watch more and more, for example the opening scene in Casino Royal, where Daniel Craig makes he's debut in he's first James Bond film shown below.

"Skyfall"

Skyfall is the latest Bond film out to date with amazing heart raising tension and tempo with non stop action from scene to scene

Alfred Hitchcock

Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock, KBE was an English film director and producer. He pioneered many techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller genres. After a successful career in British cinema in both silent films and early talkies, billed as England's best director, Hitchcock moved to Hollywood.
Over a career spanning more than half a century, Hitchcock fashioned for himself a distinctive and recognisable directorial style. He pioneered the use of a camera made to move in a way that mimics a person's gaze, forcing viewers to engage in a form of voyeurism. He framed shots to maximise anxiety, fear, or empathy, and used innovative film editing. His stories frequently feature fugitives on the run from the law alongside "icy blonde" female characters. Many of Hitchcock's films have twist endings and thrilling plots featuring depictions of violence, murder, and crime, although many of the mysteries function as decoys or "MacGuffins" meant only to serve thematic elements in the film and the psychological examinations of the characters. Hitchcock's films also borrow many themes from  psychoanalysic and feature strong sexual undertones. Through his cameo appearances in his own films, interviews, film trailers, and the television program Alfred Hitchcock presents, he became a cultural icon.
