"the birds"

Alfred Hitchcok "The Birds" (1963)

The Birds is a 1963 suspense/horror film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, loosely based on the 1952 story "The Birds" by Daphne du Maurier. Its about a wealthy san fransisco socialite who persues a potential boyfriend to a small northen town called bodega bay. Normally in films threats are coming from surrounding and humans, however in this film the threat has come from nature. Most thrillers including "The Birds" are characterized by fast pacing, frequent action. For example in "The Birds", since the woman Tippi Hedren turned up in bodega bay there was a constant attack of birds (nature) which towards the end everyone relised too.

I think in this film "The Birds" my favourite scene was when tippi hendren went to check up on the little girl at her school, but as soon as she See's that the girl is fine tippi hedren goes back outside. however when shes sitting just outside the playground, one by one a new bird lands on the climbing frame until there is no more space for anymore, then eventually when shes turns around, all she could see was birds upon birds so then she rushes back in the school to gather all the children to run back to their homes, the sinister birds attack everything in their path no matter what. I just thought this was my favouroute scene mainly because I love a bit of volience in a film, get people on the egde of their seat.

  1. Joe, always leave yourself a note on the end of your post if it is not finished. Just write "UNFINISHED" at the end, that way I know not to mark it and you don't forget it's not finished!
